Who we are
Endiro Studios is a design store sourcing and handmaking an eclectic mix of items exclusively from African Textiles. Our name is derived from the Luganda word for “root” or "origin", signifying our desire to ground our products in what has come before.
Our emphasis on the use of rare and unique African textiles sets us apart. We prioritise materials made by hand and of natural origin. Often, these are heritage crafts at risk of decline. Therefore, through collaboration, we empower the artisans we source from, showcasing the breadth of their skill, craftsmanship and creativity.
I’m Yolanda, the founder and Creative Director of Endiro Studios. I am Ugandan by birth, but was raised in the UK.
The dream behind this company has been years in the making; born from the desire to share the rare and handwoven textiles I discovered in Uganda. I truly believe that everyone deserves to experience their beauty and versatility for themselves.
My background in engineering and design has laid the foundation, with early samples and prototypes being made by myself. However, this has always been about the love of my homeland. As a proud Ugandan, I deeply desire for people to experience a taste of my home and see what its people are capable of. And how much more for the rest of the continent? The talent is abundant, and waiting to be showcased.
And that’s what I hope to do with Endiro Studios.
